The Nights Are Drawing In... Is Your Home Ready?

The clocks will soon be changing, the jumpers are coming out, and before we know it, it will be dark before dinner. As the autumn and winter evenings draw in, burglars can find it easier to spot homes that look empty.

Don't make it easy for them:

Put a lamp on a timer switch.

Lock doors and windows, even if you're only popping out for a short time.

Keep valuables, keys and parcels out of sight.

Secure bikes, sheds and garages.

Look out for your neighbours and report anything suspicious.

Most burglars are opportunists looking for an easy target. A few simple steps can help keep your home safe while you enjoy the cosy nights, warm drinks and festive season ahead.

If you see suspicious activity, report it via 101, or 999 in an emergency.
